I posted hither about a calendar week ago detailing all the steps I took to publish a game on Steam in 1 month.
Here are the commencement week sales numbers:
-
$520 revenue (before Steam'south cut)
-
255 copies sold ($2.99 cost point with xv% discount)
-
Wishlists on launch: 200, now at 700
Continue in mind the costs of making the game were 1 month of full time work + $eighty for the music + $220 for the translations + $100 for Steam. Just 30% of the sales came from the US.

Useful info! Technically the wishlists to sales ratio is insanely loftier, simply I'yard sure thats based on the fact you lot had very fiddling time to grow the wishlists before launch (and the cheap price point probably helped as well). Thanks for posting!

Did localization increase sales in other countries so much? Whatever chance you could tell us the peak and bottom state sales (or share a chart showing sales percentage past country)?

Smashing fine art. I get alien hominid vibes

I'd be interested to hear the results of your translation experiment. Which countries/languages were the nearly pop?

Here'southward the breakdown of revenue / land:
-
30% Us
-
11% France
-
vii% China
-
half-dozen% UK
-
six% Japan
-
4% Korea
-
four% Germany
-
three% Poland
Everything else is at or beneath 2% which is less than the $10 I spent on the translation. I expected Russia and Brazil to be a bit higher just the residue is pretty much what I thought it'd exist. I don't think the translations really boosted the traffic Steam sent to the page organically though.

Thanks for sharing this! I saw your game in Hutts YouTube and this evening it was a neat idea. Having been played and enjoyed by him I thought you lot'd take done a lot more in sales. It just goes to show how hard it is to be successful in indie games.
level 2
What? Are you sure you got the correct game? I must have missed it haha

First off, thank you then much for your information y'all shared with us. It really helps gain an insight towards how much revenue an indie game could create. Did you game announced on the New and Trending page for one-time?

I don't recall my game appeared on the folio. It was very close at some points (I saw a couple of games appearing there that were about the same size every bit mine) merely equally far as I know it never made it.

I could run across someone like northernlion playing this game for his series

Congrats, and thanks for sharing!

If you oasis't lost a lot of coin and your game isn't rated bad at Steam, then I'd say y'all were very successful! The experience you now gained is worth a lot.
Thanks for sharing!

Yeah I'grand happy I fabricated it anyway, information technology was a great learning experience!

Thanks for the information
